Kew Gardens SUPER picture heavy.

So, I'm back at the Library, still Tablet-less. Its in at a Samsung fixit store, so hopefully something can be done sooner rather than later! I've found I can get the 10.1 Samsung Tab for £229 though, so its not too bad if I do have to get a new one...

Anyway, last weekend, I went to Kew Gardens. I'm glad I went when I did because I had a stunning day while I was there, and had a really good poke around and stuff. It was ace. There isn't a lot you can really SAY about this place, just look at pictures. So I've included a whole bunch of pictures for your enjoyment. I'm lovely like that :D.

When I got there first up, I went on this carriage thing around the gardens (cos they are MASSIVE!) and I got off at Kew Palace firstly to poke around there. Its quaint. I wanted to find the kitchens and stuff, but couldn't figure out where they were. Anyway, photos from the palace-y bit.

I want this bed!

At Kew, it seemed their "theme" thing for the past summer was food you can eat from trees. DADAAAA FEJOIAS!!

And a whole bunch of other things, which turned out to be HUGE!!

And then I found the Palm House. MAN, it was hot in there, but there were some cool plants, like cocoa trees, rubber trees, coffee trees, Papaya trees!!

It was all very exciting.

Now, just some generic pretty plant pictures. I took a few....

Ironic....the best picture I take of Cabbage Trees.....is in London...

And generic pretty Kew Gardens Landscape pictures

The Palm House, it was like SUPER hot!

I'm so tall!
This is looking across the Thames to some Duke's house, but its pretty!

And then, there was this pineapple thing. I didn't really get it, but they had rigged it up so you could touch the leaves and depending on what leaf you touched it played a different sound. It was reaaally cool. See a video!

VIDEO TO COME!!!

Annnnd yeah. It was a fun day. I spent like 5 hours there, wandering around etc. Had fun. Very tired by the end of the day. Man, this was long. I have to run home now to catch the America's Cup Race 5 (delayed coverage, but better than nothing!!) so I'll try to update more tonight!

Catchyas!

PS This tree below, it was used as the cast for the Whomping Williow in the Harry Potter Films. WINNAGE!

Was gonna, but nahhhh

So I was gona update tonight, but I'm exhausted, and freaking out a bit! It seems my tablet has conked it and I can't fix it :( and so now I'm really not in the mood.

I'm suuuper annoyed.

Hoping keeping it in the hot water cupboard overnight will help it out!

Keep your fingers crossed!!

Jakes holiday week!

So Jake had a week before school started and no science camp, so we had full on JAKE all week.

Monday was a bank holiday (Which to me, just seems like a holiday cos they can...its random but whatever) so I had that day off too. I don't even think I left the house! Emma had started a Wheres Wally puzzle so we pretty much worked on that all day and then read a book, and watched TV and chillaxed, which was nice. Honestly, I can't think of the last time I've had so much time off!!

Tuesday we missioned it out to a nearby shopping centre to get Jake's school shoes. I had to go to another store and was away about 45 minutes and when I got back, Emma and Jake had only JUST had his foot measured, it was crazy busy. And then they didn't even have the shoes in his size...lame!! Lucky we went to another shoe store and they had what we needed. After picking up some trackkies quickly, we charmed Jake by a Hot Chocolate at Costa Coffee (which seem to have a coffee shop EVERYWHERE!!) and then we came home.

At around 3, Jake, Ant and I headed about half an hour north to a Mini Golf. Jake and Ant hit some balls on the driving range first, before we started our game. It was a cute Dinosaur themed Mini Golf, with big moving structures (I can't think of the right word right now). It was sooo busy. After we paid we still had to wait like 10 minutes before our first hit. It was a pretty cool course. I got 2 holes in ones (My victory dance was greeted with glares and hushed whispers from Jake that I was embarrassing haaaa). Even with my 2 holes in ones, I still lost :(. Jake had fun though and we got Ice Creams at the end. Winnage for all!!!!

Gorgeous Panoramic!
Wednesday started off with Emma trying to get Jake to do his diary that he had to do for school. He can write and can do quite well, but he just won't. I don't get it, honestly its so hard to explain how painful and stressful it is to get him to do his homework. It took us 2 hours to get him to write 25 words. Emma said this morning while they were at the grandparents he had to do some homework and they were shocked at how hard it is to get him to do it....honestly.

That arvo, Ant, Jake and I went down to Regent's Park to try the peddelos. Paddle Boat things. I'm so glad we only went for half an hour! Ant and I had to pedel cos Jake couldn't quite reach the pedals, so he rudded the whole time. My legs hurt SOOOO much by the end of it, like jelly...ewww.

Those blue boat things are the boats....oddly enough
Arty Shot!!
DUCKITCH!!!!
Look how good I am at peddeling!
The next day we had to get up suuper early cos we were headed to the Natural History Museum. We wanted to get there super early so we could get through the Dinosaur bit without too many lines. So we lined up outside the museum for 40-odd minutes, which wasn't too bad cos we had a sunny spot and we played car cricket. We got in and were pretty much within the first 10 people inside the museum, success!!

Is such a gorrrgeous museum. It was slightly hard going with Jake cos he got over the reading bit of the museum pretty early on, so we had to kinda entertain him in other ways. It was fun going round and pointing at this I knew about and telling Jake about them. I think he enjoyed it (he's now spilling everything to anyone who will listen haha). I saw a whole lotta things I recognised from TP, it was funny looking at all the staff and picking up on their things that we would do, it was fun but it made me miss my old job!

How cool is that!!
PRETTY museum
The line behind us

I remember Hannah studying Parasaurlopharous....ever since then I've loved them!
AMAZING!! Also, in the full fish, you could see the eaten fish's head poking out
Blue Whales are a common feature in my life!

That arvo we just chilled, it totally took it out of us that morning!! So we spent the rest of the day hanging round home, in the garden and stuff. The garden is fun. I'm loving it.

Friday morning, we were rearing to go to a show in the Regent's Park Open Air Theatre - called Dino Zoo. We were all settled in our seats ready to go and then the guy comes on stage and says that one of the girls from the show is sick and unable to perform :(. So we had to get new tickets and go and have our picnic in the park. Man, what an epic picnic too! Heaps of salads and yummmmmyness.

Thats all I feel I can write tonight, I'll do an update of my weekend probably tomorrow!!

Catchyas! x
